From Ukraine with love...

When the war in Ukraine raged in the beginning of 2022, I felt enormous compassion for the people this young nation. I believe that this war will make the national identity of Ukrainians stronger than ever. Many of my jewelry I have earlier ordered from Ukraine via ETSY.com for I know there are great hand-craft masters out there. I wanted to help and support. I do not have much but something is better than nothing. I looked for the shops I bought my jewelry and they were suspended. Those great artists were men and they were at war. I don’t know if they survived. But I they left a trace with the magical rings they made.
Then I found Olga Vlasenko on ETSY and some other artists and people in Ukraine. I sent things and ordered handcraft. My friendship is Olga started with a very natural communication. I was amazed how the handles the panic situation of an ongoing war - with art. Working and being creative in the middle of that horror is her therapy. As long as the end of 2022 there has not been a direct battle where she lives but it is war…
I ordered a lot of artwork from my new friend and I can not value it. It means so much to me! I started with sending some dresses and pictures and look what she made! It is amazing, unique, professional, done with love and passion…

Happy kid!

Here are more gifts from here… Magnets painted on wooden slices… So extremely cute!

Here are the portraits expressing panic, anxiety and depression. Olga is a master of capturing a soul on paper and give it a magical image through water color.

Olga is the illustrator of my latest book The Door.
