Why choose to be in prison?
A cynical mega rich aristocrat named Adolus Huxley wrote in his book Brave New World that if the slaves choose and love their slavery, they will never try to escape it. So true! And so our children choose their slavery being slaves of the screen. Everything is allowed on the screen, millions of fantasies have merged so there is no space there for your own one…
Of course, there are possibilities in the virtual screen, but it is still the evolution reversed.
And so I remember the prisoner in real prison I once was supposed to guard. He had many years left behind the bars. He told me:
- Stella, do you know what I will do when I am free?
- No, I don't. Tell me…
- I will walk alone in the forest until I can not walk any more, just to feel that there are no limits to my freedom, no electric fences and hundreds of locked doors… I just want to feel free.
When you realize you are a prisoner, freedom will be the only thing you desire. My question is: What can lead our kids to an insight that they are prisoners in the virtual prison?
