One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Yesterday I saw One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I would like to recommend this master work to everyone who haven't seen the movie. It is available on HBO Max right now.
I was 15 years old when a friend of mine recommended the book. I had forgotten the details by now, but the powerful impression has been there my entire life. I was at the time so moved by the story, so that I never completely trusted any institution och medical service afterwards. The book must be mandatory litterature for every high school therefore the young people can learn about evil, sadism and power abuse covered by the "good" intentions and solutions of the social system. The story is so deep, such ingeniously told, that it can take any human being through a major catharsis.
The story tells us as well about bravery, the courage to act and use our choice.
The book is written by Ken Kesey. I think about how important it is to have friend like mine - friends who give you this book, instead of sharing drugs with you...
